Learning Organization

 What Is a Learning Organization?

(UpRaise, 2018)

Learning organizations are where individuals are constantly expanding their ability to achieve the outcomes they really want, where fresh and expansive thought processes are nurtured, where mutual aspiration is set free, and where individuals are constantly learning to see the whole together.

A vision of what might be possible is the Learning Business. It is not brought on solely by training people; it can only occur as a result of learning at the level of the entire company. A Learning Company is an entity that promotes and constantly transforms itself through the learning of all its members. ( Garvin, 2016, p. 12)

What Do Learning Organizations Do?

  • Provide ongoing opportunities for learning.
  • Using learning to achieve their targets.
  • Connect individual success to performance in the organization.
  • Foster inquiry and dialogue, make it safe for individuals to communicate and take risks freely.
  • As a source of vitality and renewal, accept creative stress.
  • They are always aware of their surroundings and communicate with it.

Primary sets of characteristics of a Learning Organization

Supportive learning environment, including psychological safety; appreciation of differences; attitude of openness; and time for reflection Concrete learning activities and processes, including experimentation to create and evaluate new products; monitoring developments with rivals, consumers, and technology; problem-solving review and interpretation; and education and monitoring.

Leadership that facilitates and enhances learning, including asking and listening to employees; emphasizing the importance of problem detection, knowledge transfer and reflection and spending time on them and considering alternative points of view. ( Garvin, 2016, pp. 10-17)

Conclusion

The word 'learning organization' was popularized by Peter Senge, not to be confused with organizational learning. This distinguishes an organization with an optimal learning environment that is perfectly in line with the objectives of the organization. Such an organization is a place where people are constantly expanding their capacity to achieve the outcomes they really want, where fresh and expansive thinking patterns are nurtured, where mutual aspiration is set free, and where individuals are continually learning to see the reality together.
