What is motivation? Motivation is the willingness to do something without the force of a third party. All organizations are trying to achieve a high level of sustainable performance through managing people in a successful manner. When we manage our employees within the organization, we can motivate them to do their tasks by giving incentives, leadership, reward and most importantly closely monitoring the tasks they do and the context which they carry out the work. There are some factors which affects the motivation of people to behave in certain ways.  (Armstrong, 1977, pp. 260-261)

  • Persistence – how long a person keeps on trying? (Armstrong, 1977, pp. 260-261)
